We need a hands-on accounts payable specialist with direct experience working with payables and credit card transactions who will be responsible for all the duties related to the accounts payable function. The best fit would be someone with experience in an advertising agency who has worked with ERP systems, someone with an entrepreneurial spirit, highly motivated, with a curious nature eager to learn, and a customer-service focus that works collaboratively across the Agency. All qualified candidates must live within commuting distance of one of BNO's three offices located in Somerville, NJ; Philadelphia, PA; and St. Petersburg, FL

Accounts Payable Specialist:

The Accounts Payable Specialist is primarily responsible for the vendor reporting and analysis for the Agency. The Accounts Payable Specialist manages vendor purchase orders and invoices and processes bi-weekly check runs. The Accounts Payable Specialist also manages the monthly reconciliation of the company credit card spending and related transactions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review purchase orders, statements, and invoices to verify amounts owed.
  • Enter vendor invoices into accounting system with accurately and with proper GL coding.
  • Prepares and processes payments for vendor invoices and other financial obligations in accordance with internal               accounting policies.
  • Responds to vendor inquiries and resolves any discrepancies in billings and payments.
  • Record and reconcile credit card transactions. Follow-up with employees for receipts and documentation as necessary
  • Work with the Account Teams and Project Managers to ensure that all outside costs, pass-through and out of pocket         expenses have been entered, recorded and posted. Other Special Projects as needed.

Skills Required:

  • Demonstrated success working in the accounting department of a service-based business.
  • Must be able work within a well-defined process-oriented environment.
  • Keen attention to detail, well-organized.
  • Experience in an Advertising Agency is a plus.
  • Must be a “self-starter,” able to work independently.
  • Minimum of 2 years accounting experience is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of Workamajig or other proprietary ERP Systems is nice to have.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
  • Customer-service mentality with positive attitude.
  • BS/BA in Accounting preferred but not required. 
  • Associate’s degree or other relevant experience is acceptable.
  • Onsite / hybrid schedule required, 3 days/week at one of our offices in NJ, PA, or FL
  • The salary range for this position is $48,000 – 53,000, DOE.
